If someone says they have $1,000,000 in the bank, is it an inspiration or a flex?

Hey Rogues!

This week we’re going to have this debate above, and I go over the transparent details of my latest Lead Magnet drop.

Let’s dive in…

This debate comes up a lot on social media where you see Instagram influencers flaunt their champaign-filled private jets and shiny watches…

We live in a world that is attracted to watching the lives of the rich and famous, but you often see the comments from people who think that this kind of content is stupid:

“It’s just attention seeking behavior.”

“It’s just for likes and a fake ‘status.’"

“They’re just flexing to look cool.”

My question for you today is…

Are you inspired or put off by displays of wealth?

I’m not sure if there’s a right or wrong answer.

I know that sometimes when I see it, I immediately recoil.

Other times, I get a surge of inspiration and drive to chase my goals.

It’s obviously case-by-case and the “who” behind the post seems to matter a lot.

But why bring this up?

If you find yourself immediately put off by displays of any wealth, I want to challenge you to use that as an opportunity to be inspired.

That does not mean that I think you should plan to show off your wealth once you create it (or start if you already have it)!

That does mean that you should change your internal dialogue when you see this kind of content.

We have the opportunity to create the story of what our life means.

Every person we meet, post we read, and show we watch influences us toward who we become.

Use that frame to create some positive feelings and stay hungry.

Don’t let it breed negativity. That’s a waste of your energy.

Create the energy you want towards your goals with whatever content you see.

My goals involve creating wealth for me to have the kind impact that I’d like to have in the world.

If you have a cause or contribute in a way that is meaningful to the planet, you can supercharge that cause with wealth, and to let that opportunity for inspiration slip away is a mistake.

There’s an opportunity to learn from everyone.

You may think Conor McGregor is a jerk, but he sold his whiskey company for $600mm.

Do you think there’s something we could learn from him?

We can absolutely celebrate his success and try to learn the lessons of how to create big results toward our goals.

We could put our energy into our negative personal opinions, or we could try to learn from people and become better as a result.

To clarify, you can STILL think he’s a jerk, but don’t stop paying attention just because of that.

You could rob yourself of learning something big that impacts the world in a way you believe in.

If you just “write people off,” you can miss out…

I’m not really a sports car guy (I like trucks), but I was attracted to one of my first mentors because he drove a Ferrari.

Part of the reason this was interesting to me was because he wore cheap cargo shorts, new balance shoes, and shirts that were clearly bought off the rack at Target.

But I followed the clues of wealth and created a relationship with him.

I learned a lot from him, and he ended up giving me my first six-figure job!

I’m not asking you to condone, encourage, or embrace the cringey side of social media…

But we CAN control ourselves.

If we take that kind of content and turn it into inspiration and curiosity, the world will keep opening up for us.

Transparency Update - Twitter Lead Magnet

I mentioned the massive growth my Twitter profile has been experiencing on last week

And after seeing that, I saw an opportunity to release a Lead Magnet for more subscribers to this newsletter and some offers I’ve been working on in the background.

If you missed that last week - here is the link for last week’s post for you guys here one last time if you want the Twitter Cheat Codes (scroll to the bottom and click the link to download).

Here are the metrics for the performance on that Lead Magnet:

At the time of the post I had about 13k followers

I think the performance was decent (in big part because of my private growth group), but here are the stats on the post:

The instructions were to Retweet and Leave the comment “Cheat” to receive the free download for the “Twitter Cheat Codes.”

Here’s the Breakdown from there:

  • I sent 47 DMs with links to my Stan Store

  • The next day, I sent a reminder DM to all 47.

  • My Stan Store Received 40 views over the next 4 days (yes it took 4 days for some people to click the link in their DM)

  • From those views, there were 15 downloads of the guide (Welcome to the club, first time readers!).

  • From the guide itself, I received 2 subscribers to my newsletter (Writer’s Rescue - for Twitter Content Creation/Inspiration)

  • and 1 lead for my Private Growth Group

Lessons Learned

  1. I had no idea how to host the lead magnet and link it to this newsletter so I reached out to a content creator friend who kills in on TikTok, and she pointed me toward Stan Store.

The user interface on this website is so good that I actually sent it to a software developer that I have working on another project to use as inspiration. I’ve only used it for the lead magnet, but it has many

product types that you can just plug and go live with in 10 minutes.

  2. I’m not very “techy,” but I was still able to set up a Zapier link from Stan to Beehiiv to immediately capture the emails into this newsletter. It had a simple step by step process to follow. If I can figure it out, I believe you can too!

  3. I think the follow up DM was very important considering that over half of the views came more than 1.5 days after the first DM was sent. Always follow up!

My conclusion…

I’m very pleased with the results so far. This was my first attempt at a lead magnet through a tweet and am very happy with the conversion percentages.

Especially considering that all of this was done from just a tweet and the time it took to put the guide together.

Compared to my experience with Google Ads, the analytics are actually very strong. It makes me excited about what is going to be possible with a bigger audience.

Obviously having a following is important for this strategy, but that’s a great reason to get started or keep going! If you need help with getting started or growth on twitter, let me know.

That’s all for now!

I truly appreciate the opportunity to be part of your day and week. Thank you for reading and engaging with me!

I take your time very seriously and aim to give you my best every week.

Please keep me posted on how I can be of service to you, your career, your business, or your growth.

Let’s keep winning together!

Forever Forward,

Rush
